Marc H. Zitomer, Partner discussed the importance of preparation in advance of new administration immigration changes
Marc H. Zitomer, Partner at Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP was featured in New Jersey Spotlight news. The article, “NJ readies schools for Trump immigration changes” discussed the preparation schools are taking in response to Donald Trump’s second term immigration promises.
According to Zitomer:
“Although I do not think they’re going to start rounding up students at schools, I do think, nevertheless, we should be prepared in case it happens. There’s no substitute for being prepared.”
Zitomer mentioned that school officials can look to the Uniform Memorandum of Agreement with law enforcement on how to handle some of these issues. He noted:
“While this is a state document, it offers many best practices that districts can apply to their relationship with federal law enforcement agencies.”
John E. Ursin, Managing Partner of SPSK commented that our Education Law Department is an important part of our firm. Many different areas of law and societal issues intersect in the schools. We are fortunate to have leaders like Marc Zitomer who stay on the cutting edge of the issues and trends to provide the highest level of service to our clients.
